Dr. Phil Tanner has spent a lifetime crossing borders - both geographical and cultural. Raised in a United Nations family across Asia, Latin America, and Africa during the Cold War, he has travelled to more than 165 countries as an international relief and development consultant, humanitarian, and researcher. His work has often taken him into places where understanding people mattered more than understanding politics, and where careful observation, trusted relationships, and the quiet gathering of information could make all the difference.
